Don't mean to dissapoint anyone, but good o' Rabbie didn't compose this sheet music (as far as I know, Peter Urbani did, but he used an already excisting melodie), for Robert Burns isn't a composer but a genius poet.

I first fell in love with Robert Burns music when I was twelve and read this poem in English Literature class. In college, PBS had a couple singing many of his songs at the end of Masterpiece Theater. I fell deeper in love with his words and music. A close friend, who has a beautiful tenor voice, sang this at our wedding.

This song is so pure ,and lovely, speaks about my husband's love to me and my love to him.You are forever loved.

I can see the parralelisms, and i thought i was the only one. Selma is the best female character that i´ve ever seen interact with any of Gerard Butler in any of his many epic movies: Atilla, 300... i found Beowulf and Selma so bound bc their destiny, through Grendel´s tragedy. I can not avoid to think if they as in the song, really were able of this great meeting.

This is by far the best version I’ve heard and it’s also one of my favourite songs. Brings back happiest memories of my children when they were small and my parents when my my Mum was alive.

Actually, it was more of a marriage of convenience, as he was about 35 years older and her father's biological half brother...

As a guitarist-singer of six decades I was asked to perform at a casual Ceilidh by the Manila St Andrews Society in the Philippines last year. Although I did not know a lot of Scottish songs, my performance was well received. I will include this song in my line up this year.
